How to use our products
Our plant establishment programme
From vegetable seedlings to fruit trees, ornamentals and native plants, Mycorrcin ensures less transplantation shock, faster establishment due to enhanced root growth and quicker time to maturity.
Just soak seedling trays or pots in a solution of Mycorrcin and water before planting and then apply to the soil around the plant after planting.
Foliacin contains a combination of enzymes, microbial signalling molecules, bacteriocins and secondary metabolites from the fermentation of beneficial bacteria and yeast. These components promote plant health and growth as well as activating beneficial microbes that live on the leaf’s surfaces (biofilm).
Biostart N is our certified organic biofertiliser, it contains nitrogen-fixing bacteria converts atmospheric nitrogen to plant-available ammonium nitrogen in the soil.

Our plant resilience programme
For general resilience in times of stress such as exposure to spray drift, disease drought conditions, our foliar biostimulant, Foliacin, provides a boost to the plant’s health system. Foliacin helps with leaf retention and ensures plants survive and thrive better in environmentally tough times (drought, heat stress, water stress). It also returns the bloom to apples and other crops.
Mycorrcin is a soil biostimulant that activates the naturally occurring beneficial microbes present in your soil to improve plant resilience as well as moisture retention. Having healthy soil biology in the plant root zone stimulates the plants “immune system” which makes the plant resilient during drought and heat stress.
Digester helps to return nutrients and organic matter to the soil for improved plant nutrition, increases the soil’s water holding capacity as well as improves soil aeration and structure and reduces plant disease by decomposing the organic material it feeds on.
Biostart N is a certified organic biofertiliser, and is great at improving the results of Mycorrcin or Organic Mycorrcin in spring, on poorly aerated or water-logged soils, and to promote root growth.

Prevent and control botrytis (Botrytis cinerea) in fruit and vegetables the gentle way with Biostart’s biological control spray, TripleX. TripleX works on grapes, avocado, top fruit and vegetables for botrytis as well as preventing sooty mould in kiwifruit.
Rather than harsh chemicals, TripleX contains a beneficial biocontrol microbe that controls and prevents the development of these diseases without negative side effects.

Soil health
How we can help
Evidence
We know that healthy soil is the key to getting the most out of your land. Biostart’s soil biostimulants, available in conventional or certified-organic form, are a great way to regenerate your soil for long term results.
Biostart soil biostimulants are fermentation-based prebiotic products that activate specific beneficial microbes already in the soil. This biologically active soil then increases root growth, improves soil structure, enhances nutrient uptake and more.

How to use our products
Activating your compost heap faster
The formation of compost requires a range of different microbes to work together in synchrony. Getting your compost heap off to a fast and efficient start needs the right groups of microbes to be activated together, and Digester carries out this process.
Product | Timing | Application |
---|---|---|
Digester | When adding new material | Treat new compost material with dilute Digester (10 mL Digester to 1 L water) and lightly incorporate. 10 L mixture covers 1 cubic metre. |
Breaking down plant material, cover crops and green manure
Prunings can take a long time to break down, as can old crops. Digester is a biostimulant that gets decomposition microbes going to break down dead plant matter fast. This means the nutrients and organic matter gets returned to the soil more fully, resulting in better yields in the following crop and better long-term soils structure. Digester also reduces disease carry over into the next seasons crop for Botrytis, Powdery Mildew and Brown Rot.
Many growers are using green manure or cover crops to further boost the soil organic matter levels. Swift breakdown of these crops into soil organic matter is required before the ground can be planted with new seeds. Applying Digester to green manure and cover crops prior to incorporating them into the soil reduces the time for the seed bed to be ready for planting and returns more nutrients to the next crop increasing the next crop’s yield.

Drought
How we can help
Is your garden or lifestyle block suffering from the drought? We can help you improve soil moisture and with plant hydration.
For soil
Mycorrcin is a soil biostimulant that activates the naturally occurring beneficial microbes present in your soil to improve root growth as well as plant resilience. Having healthy soil biology in the plant root zone stimulates the plants “immune system” which makes the plant resilient during drought and heat stress while bigger root systems enable plants to find more water in the soil.
For plants
For greater resilience in times of drought conditions, our foliar biostimulant, Foliacin, provides a boost to the plant’s health system. Foliacin helps with leaf turgidity and leaf retention, ensuring plants survive and thrive better in environmentally tough times. Foliacin also enhances the plant’s ability to control its internal temperature which means resilience during heat stress.
